Yes, this product has been out a while but I just downloaded VMWare last week and noticed this feature.

VMWare Unity allows you to combine your virutal OS and your host OS together. Here is a screenshot:

As you can see, I have Windows Movie Maker 2.1 and Windows Movie Maker 6 side-by-side. To activate this feature, click View, Unity in VMWare and the active application in the guest OS will be on your host machine. You will also see a button when you hover over the start menu in the host OS which will allow you to change applications.

Rating: 5 out of 5 starts

I highly recommend that you use this feature if you have VMWare

I reviewed this application a year ago and it’s changed a lot since. The interface has been changed to blend more into Windows 7 which you will see in the screen shots below.

Part 1 – Installation

The installer is very user-friendly and doesn’t force you to install all the applications.

review3 – It’s nice that you can select what you want and don’t want to install

review4 – The installation took a little longer then I expected, but I have slow internet

review5 – After about 30 minutes it’s done.

review6 – And you can sign up for a Live ID if you haven’t already

review7 – Looks like it worked

review8 – Windows Live Mail is my second favorite email app next to Outlook

review9 – Photo Gallery isn’t really need in Vista but it’s nice to have in XP

review10 – Windows Live Writer is my favorite blogging application. Highly recommended

review11 – Even though I’m not a fan of toolbars, this one is actually quite nice.

Overall rating: 4 out of 5

Installer: 4.5 out of 5

Mail: 5 out of 5

Photo Gallery: 4 out of 5

Writer: 5 out of 5

Toolbar: 3.5 out of 5

Man, it’s been over a month since my last post. Sorry, I’ve been busy lately and haven’t had time to update this blog. Anyway, I finally got my browser’s website up and here it is http://browsernet.sourceforge.net. I will update everything about my browser there but this blog will be for talking about anything other then my browser.

My browser is hosted on SourceForge.net! August 7, 2008

I submitted my application earlier today and got accepted tonight! For those of you who don’t know, I am writing a browser written completely in Microsoft Visual Basic. It has over 1100 lines of code and took 4 months to write. I used Visual Studio 2005 Standard and Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0. It will take a few days before everything is working but when everything is working, the website will be http://browsernet.sourceforge.net (not up yet) and the project page will be http://www.sourceforge.net/projects/browsernet
