i decided to post about the things i use.

July 2008 Update: I have upgraded the computer that I built to 2GB of RAM

May 2008 Update: i upgraded the hard drive in my main computer and upgraded my old(er) computer to Windows XP SP3. you can see what i use in real time by going here.

2.3 GHZ AMD Althon 64 X2, 1 2 GB RAM

HP m7160n (i think)
2.6 GHZ Intel Pentium D, 1GB RAM
Windows Vista Ultimate with SP1 (it used to have XP but i upgraded it)

My Old(er) computer (test computer)

eMachines (i don’t remember the model)
2.6 GHZ Intel Celeron D, 512MB RAM
Windows XP Home SP2 SP3
80GB HD

My Old Laptop (test computer)

Compaq Presario 2500
2.0 GHZ Intel Pentium 4, 448MB RAM
Windows XP Professional SP3
30GB HD

My REALLY old computer:

Software

Internet Browser:
I use Mozilla Firefox 3 as my primary browser and sometimes Internet Explorer

Media Player:
Although I don’t play music that much, I use Windows Media Player 11 (Vista) as my media player

Program Development:
I use Visual Studio 2005 Standard (i know i need to upgrade) to develop my programs.

Program Language(s):
I usually use Visual Basic and sometimes C#

Testing Operating Systems:
For testing operating systems, I usually use Virtual PC 2007 and if I need to, I’ll use VMware Server 1.0. If the OS is stable, I’ll use one of my test computers.

Other Programs:
For typing I use Microsoft Word 2003 (with Office 2003) and I use Windows Live Mail (desktop version). If I’m in a hurry, I’ll use Windows Live Writer to write blog posts but most of the time, I’ll use the web interface.
