Does you computer run slow, act strange? Well that could be the sign of a bad sector which is the part of your hardrive that doesn’t work. Here’s how to do this:

Windows Vista:

1. Click Start, type cmdchkdsk picchkdsk pic

2. Right click on the program cmd and click run as administrator

3. Accept the UAC prompt and type this: chkdsk /f

4. You will then get a message, type y

5. Restart your computer

6. It will then check your hardrive.

Windows XP (all versions)

1. Click Start, Run

2. Type cmd

3. Type chkdsk /f

4. Type y

5. Restart your computer

6. It will then check your hardrive
